Africa Desired Destinations (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a boutique safari company based on Mawala Avenue, Arusha, Tanzania. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website, by email, by telephone, on WhatsApp or in person.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at info@africadesireddestinations.com.

Information you give us. When you enquire or book, we may collect your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, country of residence, preferred travel dates, the number and ages of travellers, your travel style and interests, and anything you choose to tell us about what you imagine for your journey.

When you book, we may also need passport details, dates of birth, flight details, emergency contacts, travel insurance details and any dietary, medical, mobility or accessibility requirements you share so that we can look after you properly. We only ask for this information when it is needed for your journey.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site working. Our website stores your cookie preferences in your browser. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below.

• To respond to your enquiries and send you the proposals you request.
• To design, book and deliver your journey, including reserving accommodation, guides, transport, flights and park permits.
• To look after your safety and wellbeing while you travel.
• To manage payments, keep accounts and meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
• To improve our website and services.
• To send you news or offers — only where you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

We process personal information in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of the United Republic of Tanzania and, where they apply to you, other data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulations. Depending on the purpose, we rely on:

• Contract — to take steps at your request before booking and to deliver the journey you book.
• Consent — for marketing and for optional cookies or embedded content. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests — to run and improve our business, provided your rights do not override these interests.
• Legal obligation — where the law requires us to keep or share information.

Health or accessibility information is used only with your explicit consent and only to arrange your journey safely.

We share only what is necessary to arrange and deliver your journey, with:

• accommodation partners such as the Siringit Collection, Elewana Collection and Legendary Expeditions (Auberge Safari), and other carefully selected lodges and camps;
• guides, drivers, transfer companies, airlines and air charter operators;
• national park and conservation authorities, which may require passport details for permits;
• payment providers, banks, insurers and professional advisers;
• authorities where we are required to by law, or to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

Our team is in Tanzania, and some of the services we use may store information in other countries. Where we transfer personal information outside the country in which it was collected, we take reasonable steps to make sure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and booking information for as long as required to deliver your journey and meet our accounting, tax and legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information such as passport or card details by unencrypted email unless we ask you to.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to ask for a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@africadesireddestinations.com. You also have the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission in Tanzania or to the data protection authority where you live.

We keep cookies to a minimum. When you first visit, we ask for your choice and store it in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings.

• Strictly necessary — remembers your cookie choice. Always on.
• Embedded media — the Google Map on our contact page and partner films hosted on Vimeo. These services may set their own cookies and receive your IP address. They load only if you allow them.

Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash and from the websites of our accommodation partners. These providers receive your IP address and browser information when the content is delivered to you. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Our website links to other sites, including those of our accommodation partners. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.

We arrange journeys for families, but we collect information about children only from their parent or guardian, and only as needed to arrange their travel.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
